Recent graduates

Whether you are a recent graduate with 2-3 years or 4-5 years of university studies, there is a place for you in our Group. And to find out what that place is, we have set up special initiatives and programmes to meet your needs.

High school to 2-3 years of university studies:
"Rencontres Emploi", opportunities that are not to be missed!

In 2009, our "1 CDI en un jour" ("One day for one job") recruitment event proved extremely popular. To take part in these recruitment events, you need to first register on the dedicated Internet site, and you are then pre-selected following a telephone interview. For you, the event is an opportunity to find out about our businesses, to share the experience of staff members, to get answers to all your questions, and perhaps to walk away with a permanent contract in your hand following the selection interviews.

4-5 years of university studies: French International Assignment (VIE)

Are you a recent graduate wanting to launch your career abroad ? In 2008, 335 graduates joined us from around the world through the VIE program for 12-24 month contracts. Société Générale is the leading company in France using the VIE program, all sectors included.

The program provides us with constantly evolving professional and cultural opportunities. As a demonstration of the trust we place in our individual employee's entrepreneurship, we have a range of ambitious roles to fill: Credit Analyst, Assistant Trader, Management Controller, Consultant Organiser, Developer, Business and Finance Manager, Communications Manager, and many more.

Put your talent to good use in the finance and investment bank operating on one of the largest stock markets, in the retail banking division in Eastern Europe or Africa, or in asset management in Luxembourg, to name but a few of the opportunities on offer.

At the end of your contract, we will provide you with a report to enable us to discuss your future career and give you the chance to tell us about your plans of integrating into our Group.

French International Assignment participation requirements:

  • Final year student or recent graduate with five years of university studies
  • Age from 18 to 28
  • National of a member state in the European Economic Area
  • Military service obligations fulfilled in the state of which you are a national

Federica, age 23

Assistant Project Leader

"I am Italian, and after six months spent in Paris with Société Générale, I was delighted to be sent to Prague for a company volunteer programme posting. My main objective at the moment is to gain a good command of another language. I don't know what I will do afterwards, but I am very pleased to see how many different positions are on offer in the Group. Needless to say, I am in close contact with the HR team!"

The careers we can offer you

One key strength is the way we assist in the professional development of the talented individuals who join us. Our human resources management policy covers remuneration, training, and career development ? and reflects our ambitious targets.

Our recruitment process

1/ Curriculum vitae selection
Your curriculum vitae is read and studied by a recruitment advisor with a full knowledge of our job opportunities. An answer will be given as soon as possible.

2/ You are invited to attend one or more interviews

  • The group interview
We organise group recruitment interviews, both for candidates with 2-3 years of university studies and with 4-5 years of university studies.
The sessions begin with an introduction to our Group and continue with a series of personality tests. Young executives wishing to join our branch network are invited to participate in a role play.
  • Individual interviews
If your application is short-listed after the group interview, you will have an individual interview with a recruitment advisor. You can exchange views about your career plan, your course and your intellectual aptitudes, your personality and your motivations. If your career progress potential is recognised at this stage, you will meet an operational manager for a second interview.

France outside the Paris area: Special procedures

Outside the Paris area, candidates with qualifications ranging from high school diploma to 2-3 years of university studies do not go through the group interview phase. You will meet an HR manager straight away, followed by a recruitment advisor. If the outcome is favourable, you will be asked to meet an operational manager.

How to apply

Our goal is clear: to recruit staff members who will be actively involved in the Group's growth and motivate them to develop their careers.
Do you share our values? Do you want to show your enthusiasm as well as use your talent in one of our teams? Go ahead, check out our vacancies and create you're application page so that you can be constantly kept up to date with the new opportunities we can offer you. If none of the current opportunities meets your career plan, you can also register an unsolicited application by creating your profile in the candidate space.
