A group covering all banking and finance businesses
Our businesses are concentrated in three key areas which are highly complementary. This is not just a commercial asset, but also a guarantee of long-term financial solidity. We have more than 600 types of job in our businesses, and myriad professional opportunities, depending on your profile.
1 . Retail Banking & Financial Services
Operating in 41 countries, our retail banking networks have some 104,000 staff members and more than 22 million customers.
Supported by a highly efficient multi-channel system, our retail banks operate in France under the brand names Société Générale and Crédit du Nord.
Our international retail banking operation has strong positions in Central and Eastern Europe, in the Mediterranean basin, in Africa, and in the French overseas territories.
Specialised financial services account for 14,2% of the revenues of our Group and this business is expanding strongly. The services include insurance, finance lease & operational leasing and consumer credit.
2 . Global Investment Management & Services
With more than 11,000 staff members across the world, this activity comprises:
- The businesses of Asset Management (institutional and collective management with Société Générale Asset Management),
- The Private banking businesses (SG Private Banking),
- The businesses of custody, broking and clearing on organised markets (Société Générale Securities Services)
- Online savings businesses (Boursorama).
3 . Corporate & Investment Banking
The 12,500 employees of Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking meet the needs of companies, financial institutions and investors. Present in more than 40 European, Asian and American countries, we are amongst the European and world leaders in euro capital markets, derivatives and structured financing.
Alongside these three core businesses, our corporate divisions establish the major orientations and general policy of the Group, which support our development. They also offer a large number of career opportunities, both in junior positions and more experienced ones.
The role of the corporate divisions consists of management, leadership and advice. They guarantee the professionalism, coherence and synergy of the actions carried out by all support functions in each of our areas of activity:
Under the direct supervision of the CEO and his deputies:
- The General Inspection acts in implementing audit and advisory missions related to all activities of the Bank in France and worldwide.
- Group's strategy: Provides and coordinates the strategic axes and acts as guarantor of coherence within the main strategic projects.
