Activities of the HR Department in charge of disability in the workplace

Recruitment, integration, training and keeping the disabled in employment are all areas covered by the work of the HR Department in charge of disability in the workplace.

A voluntary recruitment plan

  • 75 disabled people have joined the company in 2009
  • Numerous partnerships (Hanploi, Jobinlive, Jobekia...) have been set up to increase the effectiveness of our recruitment operations
  • Implementation of the "Handimanagement" programme in schools (EDHEC, IESEG Lille): support for projects led by students  

Operations to keep the disabled in work

  • 320 operations have been conducted in 2009, covering areas such as accessibility, adaptation of workstations, adaptation of working hours, provision of parking and transport, etc.
  • Implementation of a dedicated process to foster recognition of the status of disabled worker. 

Training initiatives

  • Hosting of disabled trainees
  • Raising awareness among managers and human resources teams
  • Training: e-learning programme on non-discrimination and equal opportunities
  • Creation of "HandiFormaBanques" in Lille, Lyon, Nice, Toulouse, Nanterre and Nantes (one year work-study programmes)

The resort of protected work sector

  • In 2009, important resort of protected work sector, especially in fields such as digitization, green care, catering or available personnel services...

Participation in numerous forums

  • More than 50 recruitment forums in 2009
  • Organisation of "Pass pour l'Emploi", 16 June 2009 (Défense, Paris)
  • Active participation in the Disabled Employment Week 

Partnership and Innovation

  • Besides, Mission Handicap Société Générale is partner with several associations: french national associations (ADAPT, APF, UNAPEI, APEC...), associations for young disabled people (Arpeigh, Fondation Garches, Hopale, Afij…) and others different associations (Handimanagement, Circonférence...).
  • Contribution in favor of innovation to promote employment and integration of disabled workers: Tadéo ( innovative technologic solution based on the Internet in order to allow deaf people to participate in meetings and to use a phone).

How to apply for a job if you are disabled

If you are covered by the 11 february 2005 french act for the professional integration of people with disabilities, you can, should you want to, declare your disabled worker status on the application form. Your application will then be directly followed by HR Dept in charge of disability in the workplace in order to ensure you a personalised follow-up.
