Recent graduates

International or French recent graduates, you have a place in our Group. To help you find out what that place is, we have set up our HR policy, special initiatives and dedicated programmes.

Experience abroad with the French International Assignments programme (VIE)

Are you a recent graduate, wanting to launch your career abroad?
In 2008, more than 300 graduates joined us through the VIE programme for 12-24 month contracts all around the world! Société Générale is the leading company in France using the VIE programme, all sectors included. At the moment there are more than 500 VIE personnel working in our Group.

Why join the VIE programme?

The contracts on offer reflect the Group’s broad diversity, both in the range of its activities and its global reach, enabling you to access roles with genuine responsibility while enjoying a truly multicultural experience.

You will be entrusted with an ambitious role within the finance and investment bank or our retail bank abroad, a demonstration of the trust we place in each of our employee's entrepreneurship.

What types of contract?

The different professional fields in the finance and investment bank offer positions as varied as Assistant financial products engineer, Developer, Assistant Trader, Sales Manager, Strategist and Business Analyst.

In retail banking, you could be given a contract as a Risk Analyst, Management Controller, Consultant Organiser, Auditor, Finance Manager, HR Consultant, Communications Manager, and many more.

Which countries?

We currently have VIE personnel fulfilling contracts in some forty countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Luxemburg, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Dubai, the Czech Republic, Romania, Georgia, Chad, Mauritania, and more.

Why VIE with the Société Générale?

At the end of your contract, we will provide you with a report to enable us to discuss your future career and give you the chance to tell us about your plans for integrating into our Group.

If on your return you wish to join the Group, you won’t have to repeat the recruitment process, because taking on a VIE contract with the Société Générale means that you have already been successful.

We want to integrate our VIE personnel: on your return you will be offered positions that lead on from the experience you will have acquired. More and more, our managers recognise and seek out the professional, human and multicultural experience embodied by our VIE personnel.

Assistant Project Leader

"I am Italian, and after six months spent in Paris with Société Générale, I was delighted to be sent to Prague for a company volunteer programme posting. My main objective at the moment is to gain a good command of another language. I don't know what I will do afterwards, but I am very pleased to see how many different positions are on offer in the Group. Needless to say, I am in close contact with the HR team!"

General Inspection

The General Inspection acts for the Group General Management in implementing audit and advisory missions related to all activities of the Bank in France and worldwide.

The General Inspection is an increasingly feminised and international team of approximately 85 inspectors, of whom thirty are recruited each year.

You will benefit from a full training programme, an attractive remuneration and you will participate in a broad range of missions, during which you will quickly be given responsibilities. Hence, with your extended knowledge of the Group's activities and banking techniques, but also your professional and management skills, you will be integrated into a pool of high-level executives for the Group.

The careers we can offer you

One key strength is the way we assist in the professional development of the talented individuals who join us. Our human resources management policy covers remuneration, training, and career development - and reflects our ambitious aims.
