Jean-François J., age 36
Legal Adviser - Financial
"After obtaining a postgraduate diploma in business law in 1998, I was taken on as a litigation in-house lawyer in the Legal Department. In this first position I was able to familiarise myself with a large number of legal professions linked to the various activities of the Société Générale Group, and meet people with a wide range of backgrounds. These meetings opened up career prospects and led me, in the course of seven years, towards the setting up of a Legal Department in a common banking subsidiary created by Société Générale and the insurance company Groupama, before moving towards legal professions linked to the investment banking and market operations, such as in bond issues, and more recently in syndicated credits."

Nicolas M., age 30
Tax Specialist
"Joining a new company is always something of a trial for a young recruit. But the team I joined was always ready to listen, and did everything to make sure my integration went well. As soon as I arrived, I was given interesting and varied tasks, and I was left to carry them out on my own. This freedom of action does not mean that each individual works independently and without supervision. Quite the reverse: team spirit and the exchange of ideas are the watchwords."
Elsa G, age 28
Tax Specialist
"I chose to join the Tax Department of the Société Générale Group because of the diversity and international dimension of the issues faced. Taxation and the banking sector are constantly changing. Thanks to their intellectual curiosity, rigorousness and dynamism, the staff members of the tax department of Société Générale are successfully adapting to the requirements and expectations of their internal and external clients. The emphasis placed on team spirit and human relations contributed greatly to my successful integration into the department in the first few weeks after my arrival."
