SG Private Banking
Established in 1997, the wealth management arm of Société Générale Group employs 2,900 people located in 26 countries with the main centers in France, Belgium, UK, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Monaco, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. It has Euro 66.9 billion assets under management (at 31 December 2008).
In June 2008, Société Générale acquired a minority stake in Rockefeller Financial Services, Inc. (“RFS”), which owns 100% of Rockefeller & Co., Inc. (“R&Co”), as part of a global alliance. R&Co is an investment adviser domiciled in New York and registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). R&Co is a wealth management firm serving both individual and institutional clients, including high-net-worth individuals and family offices and providing wealth planning and access to trust services as well as investment management services. As of September 30, 2009, R&Co and its subsidiaries were responsible for the administration of approximately $ 23 billion in client assets.
In the context of this alliance, SG Private Banking plans to extend its presence in the US by implementing a banking platform (“SG Private Banking USA”) focused on cash and lending solutions for high net worth individuals, families, trusts and endowments under the SG New York Branch.
The position described herein is Credit Analyst for SG Private Banking USA reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Management and Middle Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be fully involved in the Credit Risk Management work stream of SG Private Banking USA Platform implementation project. Within this project, the candidate will draft procedures on Credit Analysis and provide inputs on the drafting of the credit policy, will work with the head of Credit Risk Management to review and provide some advices on the legal documentation drafted by legal counsel for the launch of the activity, will work closely with Compliance in order to define the key information required for Credit Analysis, will participate to the UAT Tests of the risk monitoring system, will also participate to the configuration of the electronic credit application workflow system. During the project phase, the candidate will familiarize and receive trainings on SG Private Banking Global Credit Policy: general principles and guidelines as well as the assessment of Loan-to Value (LTV) and Initial Margin Requirement (IMR).
Once the platform is set-up, the candidate will be responsible to assist and provide advices to Client Relationship Managers for the preparation of new credit applications, to review them and provide an independent opinion through an executive summary before submission to the Head of Credit Risk Management. The candidate will work closely with the persons in charge of credit monitoring and credit administration as well as with Legal counsel and Compliance Officer in order to have an in-depth knowledge of clients situations, to ensure credit files are perfectly maintained by credit administration with all legal documentation in place and to be aware of any credit or any other events that may occur during the life of the implemented credit line.
The candidate will also be responsible for performing annual review of credit lines or interim submission and amendments. The candidate will also prepare irregular and watch list reporting for the Monthly Credit Risk Committee.

COMPETENCIES

In-depth knowledge of wealth management and private banking regulation and practice in the USA.
In-depth credit analysis skills with a capacity to interact with Legal and compliance department
Able to work on a project mode basis, within a small team integrated to a large organization. Challenge should be the motivation factor for this key role in the project.
High degree of Integrity and Impartiality
Capacity of balancing business stakes while protecting the bank at any time.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; good team spirit; able to work under pressure, solution provider spirit.
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
At least 7 years of experience in financial services industry with 5 years in Private Banking.
