A strategic solution centre for the Group

Société Générale Global Solution Centre (SG GSC), a subsidiary of Société Générale Group, was set up as the strategic arm of the Bank in Bangalore in 2000 to deliver projects in application development & maintenance, business processes, financial accounting, performance management and IT consultancy to Société Générale’s business lines around the world.

SG GSC has delivered IT projects for Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, Specialized Financial Services, International Retail Banking, and Global Investment Management & Services. It provides accounting and business market operations service for Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking and Global Investment Management & Services.

The Bangalore centre leverages on mutual synergies through sharing of information, best practices, tools, techniques and methodologies across the Group entities. Hence it has evolved to become the 'Global Knowledge Centre' for the Group.

The centre started with just 10 persons primarily to service the IT needs of the Group within the Asia Pacific region. Today, we have over 850 staff offering cutting edge IT development skills and back-office / transaction process capabilities to the Group. 75% of the staff work for the IT division and 25% for ITES (BPO) division. Over the next three years as part of the ‘Corporate Strategy’ the ITES (BPO) business division is expected to increase its staff to 40%.

Our strength: Our people

At SG GSC, we have staff from diverse back grounds. More than 25% of our staff have either worked abroad or visited foreign countries for business purpose, thus providing them an international perspective. Most of the staff before joining Société Générale have worked in global banks, large IT companies or consulting firms. Pooling of resources across varied management graduates, technical professionals, finance professionals / chartered accountants results in sharing of best practices for organisational growth.
